Instincts

#1 Starts handing you back your stuff when he is introduced to you.
#2 Uses sleight of hand to put things away. Example: As he takes the loaf of bread it disappears and as he turns you notice his new found paunch.
#3 When in need of something he uses sleight of hand to search for things in nearby pockets but only things that would work he doesn't notice items that wont work. Example: His back itches and he needs a long stick to scratch the spot so he pilfers the flute from the pack of a passing minstrel.
#4 Uses sleight of hand to pick the pockets of anyone who bumps into or brushes past him. Must take anything appraised to have value doesn't notice until later and has to reappraise the items he can somehow recall who the things belong to though. Example: A man in a cloak brushes past him. Later he is search by the guards as he leaves the castle and they find a small vile in his possession. Its the same poison used to kill the king.
