Questions about Fomoria

I've got a couple about the campaign world now instead of just the rules.

1: Does Grondinium have a leading assassin's guild? If so, would being a primary member or leader of it be
1D - Small, local or specialised [10]
2D - Large, regional or expansive [25]
3D - National, powerful or ruling group [50]

2: Does Fomoria have a god of death or something similar? If so what would he/she be called or what is his/her name?

1. yes and I think being the leader of it wouldn't be accessible to a player character right away. Nex tin line, sure- just use the same trait as the prince,which I think is a 5 pointer. The assassin guild in Grondinium, is known across the nation and is so a 3D.

2. Yes, Wayids-naz, Lord of the Dark, etc.

Back to first question, perhaps not the leader, but someone high ranking? With maybe a little clout? That would be 3D? Or would it be 3D to just be a member in good standing?

Now on to a new one

3: Can we as players invent our own Affiliations? Such as being the head of a smaller more tight nit but still elite/effective group of assassin's?

What do you think the masked Etharchs for Xeralaith are. They are select group of elven warriors. I just made them up. But they are a small group powerful when they wish to affect stuff though.
Each member of the council of the sward may nominate one person every 100 years and that person still has to accept. The head of council may nominate 0ne every 50 years.

That's kind of the whole idea of Burning Wheel. With, of course, my veto power. usually I just say yes, but it still has to fit in the world. An example would be, witch hunters of Soun. Drake Phyre made one. Up until he did, I couldn't even conceive of that. Soun is a benevolent god of right. There are examples in real history of terrible things being done in the name of goodness, but the god in real history doesn't talk to his priests through oracles, at least not for a thousand years or so. OK, so maybe he does but we just lock them up. Either way, the god soun, patron god of Sindar wouldn't sanction witch hunters. (fix that Ric. Witch hunters worship only the one true god (as they put it), Wayids-Naz)

Ok brin I added Wayids-Naz instead of soun.
Just because he goes to church and works for soun doesn't mean he cant be a psychopathic monster.

well on that we agree. It's teh witch-hunter thing. Soun is the patron god of eleves. Witch-hunters hate all things not human. even natural things are to be dominated. and, of course, most followers of Wayids-Naz think of themselves as righteous.
